Dr. Alain Borczuk, professor of pathology and laboratory medicine, has been selected to to serve as the next editor in chief of the Archives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine. The Archives is the College of American Pathologists’ monthly, peer-reviewed medical journal. It offers global reach and the highest measured readership among pathology journals.
Dr. Lorraine Gudas, chairman of the Department of Pharmacology and the Revlon Pharmaceutical Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology, has been selected as a fellow of the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics. This honor is given annually to individuals who have made major contributions both in research and in leadership in the pharmacology/chemical biology research community.
Dr. Ellen Scherl, the Jill Roberts Professor of Inflammatory Bowel Disease and a professor of clinical medicine, received the Rosenthal Humanitarian Award from the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. Dr. Scherl’s award will be presented virtually during The Great Gutsby 53rd Annual Gala on Nov. 12.
Dr. Rahul Sharma, chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine, received the Innovative Change in Practice Management Award from the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). This annual award is given to an emergency physician who has developed an innovative process, solution, technology or product to solve a significant problem in the practice of emergency medicine. The award will be presented during the ACEP annual meeting.
