Awards and Honors Across Weill Cornell Medicine - September 28, 2018

Dr. Marisa Censani, assistant professor of pediatrics, has been elected Trustee on the Executive Board of the Obesity Medicine Association. She will join the association’s Board of Trustees for a two-year term following an induction ceremony in September at the annual Fall Obesity Medicine Association conference in Washington D.C.

Dr. Karim Halazun, assistant professor of surgery, was selected to receive a Vanguard Award for the Best Clinical Paper by the International Liver Transplantation Society for his paper entitled, “Recurrence After Liver Transplantation for Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC).” The paper predicts recurrence in patients who undergo liver transplantation for HCC.

Dr. Manish Shah, the Bartlett Family Associate Professor in Gastrointestinal Oncology and associate professor of medicine, received the Fellowship of ASCO Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology. The award recognizes ASCO members for their extraordinary volunteer service, dedication and commitment. He accepted the award June 2 at ASCO’s annual meeting in Chicago.
