Fellows must demonstrate special contributions to scientific literature or significant advancements in the field of sleep medicine, be board certified, and be recommended by two other board-certified medical professionals in sleep medicine.
Dr. Marcin Imielinski, an assistant professor of computational genomics, and of pathology and laboratory medicine, has received the American Society for Clinical Investigation Council Young Physician-Scientist Award. The award recognizes up to 40 scientists annually who receive career-development research support from the National Institutes of Health or similar awards from other organizations, are early in their first faculty appointment, and have made notable achievements in their research. Winners received funding to attend the Association of American Physicians, the American Society for Clinical Investigation, and the American Physician Scientists Association joint meeting, which took place April 15 – 17 in Chicago.
