Dr. Susan B. Bostwick, a professor of clinical pediatrics, was in December elected president-elect of the Academic Pediatric Association's Board of Directors for 2016, and president for 2017. The association is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of all children and adolescents by promoting research, advancing a scholarly approach to education, developing innovations in healthcare delivery, advocating for an equitable child health agenda, and fostering leadership and career development of child health professionals.
Dr. Jing Gao, an assistant professor of research in radiology, was appointed scientific advisor for Endra Life Sciences on Oct. 15. Dr. Ramin Zabih, an associate professor of computer science in radiology, was in October appointed to the Association of Computing Machinery's Doctoral Dissertation Award Jury, which is tasked with choosing annual award winners for the best doctoral dissertations in computer science and engineering. The association is the world's largest educational and scientific computing society, and is focused on delivering resources that advance computing as a science and a profession.
