Dr. Michael Avissar, a resident in psychiatry, received an American Psychiatric Association Resident Psychiatric Research Scholars Fellowship for 2015-2016. The American Psychiatric Foundation and Janssen Pharmaceuticals co-sponsor this program, which identifies promising psychiatric residents with the potential to become leaders in all areas of psychiatric research, and announced this year's winners on May 18. The fellowship program emphasizes special mentoring and career enrichment, both at the association's annual meeting and throughout the year.

Dr. Owen Davis, a professor of obstetrics and gynecology and of reproductive medicine, was named president of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine on Oct. 21 during its 71st annual meeting in Baltimore. The society is dedicated to the support and advancement of research and practice in the field of reproductive medicine, and sponsors educational programs for both the lay public and professionals in the field to facilitate this goal.

Dr. Nathan M. Kravis, a clinical professor of psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine and an alumnus of the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research, received its 2015 George S. Goldman Award. The award is given annually to a doctoral candidate, alum, or faculty member to recognize and encourage colleagues who bring a high level of skill to psychoanalytic practice and teaching.

Dr. Geraldine McGinty, an assistant professor of clinical radiology, was appointed chair for the American College of Radiology's Commission on Economics at its annual meeting in May. The commission is the college's primary resource for medical socioeconomics. The American College of Radiology aims to maximize the value of radiology for society and patients by advancing radiology research, education, and its applications in the medical field.

Dr. David Nissan, a resident in psychiatry, received the 2015 American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law Rappeport Fellowship. The fellowship offers an opportunity for outstanding residents with interests in psychiatry and the law to develop their knowledge and skills. Recipients attended the Forensic Psychiatry Review Course and the academy's annual meeting during the week of October 19-25 in Ft. Lauderdale.
