Awards and Honors

Dr. Elizabeth L. Auchincloss, the DeWitt Wallace Senior Scholar and a professor of clinical psychiatry, received the Weill Cornell Medicine Department of Psychiatry's Distinguished Alumni Award at a reception during the American Psychiatric Association's 2015 annual meeting on May 18 in Toronto. Weill Cornell Medicine and Columbia University Medical Center annually acknowledge a distinguished alumni from their respective institutions.

Dr. Scott Blanchard, an associate professor of physiology and biophysics, delivered the keynote address at New York University's Molecular Biophysics Graduate Student Symposium on June 5. His lecture was titled "Imaging Functional Dynamics of Single Membrane Proteins."

Dr. Stephen Lyman, an associate professor of healthcare policy and research, was named the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery's deputy editor of methodology and statistics, effective July 1. The journal, considered the gold standard in peer-reviewed scientific information in the field, publishes evidence-based research to enhance the quality of care for orthopaedic patients.

Dr. Joseph Safdieh, an associate professor of neurology (education), received the Clerkship Director Teaching Award in April from the American Academy of Neurology.The award recognizes individuals who have dedicated themselves to neurology education. The society represents more than 21,000 neurologists and neuroscientists.
