Dr. David Lyden, the Stavros S. Niarchos Professor in Pediatric Cardiology and a professor in pediatrics, gave the keynote address at the Biology and Treatment of Metastatic Cancers Conference held Sept. 23 – 26 in El Jadida, Morocco.

Dr. Jyoti Mathad, an instructor in medicine, was named an Ujala Foundation Scholar by the Center for Clinical Global Health Education at Johns Hopkins Medicine. Dr. Mathad is one of eight scholars who will work to improve healthcare in India, with a particular focus on fighting tuberculosis. The center trains, supports and empowers healthcare providers and health researchers in resource-limited communities.

Dr. Geraldine McGinty, an assistant professor of radiology, gave the keynote address "Economic Challenges and Opportunities for Radiologists," at a meeting of the Philadelphia Roentgen Ray Society on Nov. 6. The group is the oldest local radiological society in the nation.
