Dr. Christopher Barbieri, an assistant professor of urology, was appointed to European Urology’s Editorial Board. The journal publishes peer-reviewed original articles and topical reviews on a wide range of urological problems and is a leading scientific publication in the field of urology & nephrology.
Dr. C. Douglas Phillips, a professor of radiology, was awarded the 2014 Distinguished Alumnus award by the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine of Marshall University in West Virginia. Dr. Phillips, a 1984 graduate, received the award during his class’ reunion in October.
Dr. Richard Silver, a professor of medicine, received the Myeloproliferative Neoplasms Heroes Award from the Voices of MPN during a dinner on Dec. 5 in San Francisco. Winners of the award were recognized by patients and caregivers for their heroic contributions in making a difference in the lives of people with myeloproliferative neoplasms. Voices of MPN is an advocacy organization that provides information and resources to patients who have myeloproliferative neoplasms and their families.
Dr. Anne Stone, an assistant professor of pediatrics, was elected to the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Pulmonology Editorial Board in December. The academy is an organization of 62,000 pediatricians committed to advancing the physical, mental, and social health and well-being for all infants, children, adolescents and young adults.
