Dr. Costantino Iadecola, director of the Feil Family Brain and Mind Research Institute, the Anne Parrish Titzell Professor of Neurology and a professor of neuroscience, was the plenary speaker for the second annual International Conference on Heart and Brain hosted last February in Paris, France. Dr. Iadecola's talk was on "The Neurovascular Unit and Cognitive Impairment."
Dr. Geraldine McGinty, an assistant professor of radiology, gave the plenary session speech, "Economics of Breast Imaging," at the National Conference on Breast Cancer in May. The conference, organized by the American College Of Radiology, covered new developments in the field of breast cancer research and treatment.
Dr. Fabrizio Michelassi, chairman of the Department of Surgery, the Lewis Atterbury Stimson Professor of Surgery and a professor of surgery, gave the Richardson Visiting Professor Lecture, titled "Novel Strategies to Reduce Recurrence Rates in Crohn's Disease," at the Harvard Medical School - Massachusetts General Hospital on May 14 in Boston.
Dr. Martin R. Prince, a professor of radiology and an adjunct professor of radiology, gave an invited lecture, titled "Update on Contrast Agents for Body MRI," for the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine's meeting on May 11 in Milan, Italy. The society is devoted to advancing magnetic resonance in medicine through communication, research, development and education.
