Dr. Erika Abramson, an assistant professor of pediatrics and an assistant professor of healthcare policy and research, was selected as the new vice chair for the Association of Pediatric Program Directors' Research and Scholarship Task Force. The mission of the program is to serve pediatric programs and their leadership by advancing the art and science of pediatric education for the purpose of ensuring the health and wellbeing of children.
Dr. Oksana Lekarev, an assistant professor of pediatrics, was appointed to the Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia Research Education & Support Foundation's Medical and Scientific Advisory board. The foundation is committed to improving the lives of those in the congenital adrenal hyperplasia community and seeks to advance quality health care through support, advocacy, education and research.
Dr. David C. Lyden, the Stavros S. Niarchos Professor in Pediatrics Cardiology, a professor of pediatrics and a professor of cell and developmental biology, was the Ruth B. Sauber Distinguished Medical Alumni Lecturer for the Albert Medical School of Brown University's graduation ceremony that took place on May 25. Recipients are typically alumni from the medical school who embody the philosophy of Brown's medical education program, view medicine as a socially responsible human service profession, and have contributed significantly to further the personal and professional development of medical students as well as the community-at-large.
