The institute conducts research studies and focuses on doctors' health and behavior, and examines how social conditions and ethical or psychosocial aspects impact medical work.
Dr. Joseph Fins, the E. William Davis, Jr., MD Professor of Medical Ethics, professor of healthcare policy and research, professor of medicine and professor of medicine in psychiatry, gave the keynote address, titled "A Critique of the Romanian Orphan Bucharest Early Intervention Project," for the 2014 Canadian Association of Research Ethics Boards' annual conference hosted on April 25 in Montreal, Quebec.
Dr. Michael G. Stewart, vice dean, the E. Darracott Vaughn, Jr. M.D. Senior Associate Dean For Clinical Affairs, chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery, professor of otolaryngology and professor of healthcare policy and research, was the keynote speaker for Yale University School of Medicine's Department of Otolaryngology Research Day on June 27.
