Dr. Dietrich Busselberg, professor of physiology and biophysics, is co-editing a new medical journal published on the Qatar Foundation's QScience platform. The Journal of Local and Global Health Science is a peer-reviewed international journal that publishes both basic and applied research related to health. The journal aims to be a vehicle for the improvement of public health in communities around the world through the promotion of evidence-based approaches.
Dr. Caitlin Hoffman, a neurosurgery resident at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, has been awarded the Distinguished Housestaff Award for all-around excellence by the New York Weill Cornell Medical Center Alumni Council. Dr. Hoffman received her award on Nov 12.
Dr. Benjamin Levine, assistant professor of ophthalmology, was appointed to Weill Cornell's 2013-2014 Leadership in Academic Medicine Program, a longitudinal faculty development program to facilitate success in academic medicine. Participation in the program requires a commitment of attending eight monthly session from Oct. 2013-May 2014.
Dr. Luise Weinstein, assistant professor of clinical medicine, received the Physician of the Year Award at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital on Nov. 20. The award, given by the Department of Nursing, recognizes physicians, fellows, house staff and medical students who show competence and caring in the clinical setting and work together with nurses to attain the highest standards of quality patient care.
