Awards and Honors

Dr. Samprit Banerjee, assistant professor of biostatistics in public health, gave an invited lecture in September titled "Meta-Analysis of Survival Curves from Orthopedic Registries," at Hospital for Special Surgery as part of the Biostatics & Epidemiology Research in Progress Series. He also gave an invited lecture in April titled "A Marginalization Approach to High Dimensional Covariance Matrix Estimation" at the New England Statistics Symposium.

Dr. Olga Boudker, associate professor of physiology and biophysics, was elected to the Biophysical Society's Council for a three year term beginning Aug. 6. The society encourages development and dissemination of knowledge in biophysics through meetings, publications and committee outreach activities.

Dr. Benjamin Levine, assistant professor of ophthalmology, was awarded the Best Teacher of the Year Award from the Weill Cornell Medical College Department of Ophthalmology in June.

Dr. Kristen Marks, assistant professor of medicine, was appointed to the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases National Guidelines Panel. The association is the leading organization of scientists and healthcare professionals committed to preventing and curing liver disease.

Jonathan Reichel, a graduate student, received a Young Investigator's Award from the ninth International Symposium on Hodgkin Lymphoma for his abstract entitled "Integrated Genomic Analysis of Flow Sorted Hodgkin and Reed-Sternberg Cell in Primary Classical Hodgkin Lymphoma."
