Dozens of students presented 30 posters and five oral presentations at Weill Cornell Medical College's Medical Student Research Day, held Feb. 24 at Uris Auditorium and the Weill Greenberg Center.
Sponsored by the Office of Academic Affairs, the daylong event offered students the opportunity to present and discuss the research they've worked on with their peers, as well as faculty mentors. Much of the research will be presented at other academic and scientific conferences in the future.
Dr. Nicholas Schiff, director of the Laboratory of Cognitive Neuromodulation at Weill Cornell and associate professor in the Department of Neurology and Neuroscience, gave the afternoon's keynote address, "Conscious or Not? How the Emerging Science of Recovery of Consciousness After Severe Brain Injuries May Impact More Than You Think."
Weill Cornell students talk about their ongoing research during poster presentations and lectures.
