Researchers at Weill Cornell Medicine, Cornell Tech and Cornell's Ithaca campus have demonstrated the use of AI-selected natural images and AI-generated synthetic images as neuroscientific tools for probing the visual processing areas of the brain.

Dr. Vanessa Bellat, an assistant professor of chemistry in radiology and an affiliate of the Molecular Imaging and Innovations Institute (MI3) at Weill Cornell Medicine, has been awarded a $2 million, four-year R37 MERIT grant from the National Cancer Institute, part of the National Institutes of Health. She will be developing a new therapeutic approach using nanofibers that selectively deliver drugs to the lungs to treat metastatic tumors. 

The program has prepared Weill Cornell Medicine faculty members to grow into institutional leaders.
