We Are Weill Cornell Medicine: Dr. Karin Ouchida

Geriatrician Dr. Karin Ouchida loves hearing people’s stories. She listens to her patients and is often amazed by their resilience—just as she felt learning the stories of her family, Japanese Americans sent to internment camps during WWII.

“One of the things I love about working at Weill Cornell Medicine is that the institution values geriatrics. They recognize that the older population is unique,” said Dr. Ouchida, an assistant professor of clinical medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and a geriatrician at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. “So we take the time to really flesh out their story, really understand where this person is coming from.”
