Dr. Inmaculada de Melo-Martín, profesor of healthcare policy and research and associate professor in healthcare policy and research in reproductive medicine, gave an invited talk titled "Valuing our Children: Embryo Selection and Procreative Liberty," as part of the Science & Technology in Society Seminar Series Nov. 8 at Virginia Tech.

Dr. Licia Selleri, associate professor of cell and developmental biology and associate professor of neuroscience in the Feil Family Brain and Mind Research Institute, delivered the plenary lecture, titled "Shaping Craniofacial and Limb Morphogenesis with ESCRTs," at the seventh Canadian Developmental Biology Conference in Mont-Tremblant, Canada. The conference, which took place March 17-20, was hosted by the Institut de Recherches Cliniques de Montréal, the first research center in Québec. The goal of the conference was to bring together fundamental science researchers and clinicians under one roof. The institut seeks to find diagnostic and prevention tools for diseases and to train young scientists.
